Jenny Pearson (Arweinydd / Conductor: Côr Siambr CGWM)
Jenny Pearson is originally from Treuddyn near Mold, studied Music at Bangor University and went on to study voice under the inspirational Joan Carlyle (RAM).
As a freelance Mezzo Soprano soloist, Jenny has sung a variety of operatic and oratorio roles across Europe, she sings as a chorister and soloist for the John S Davies singers based in Cardiff and regularly gives concerts for Welsh National Opera.
Jenny is a vocal animateur and musical director for Welsh National Opera and is a vocal animateur for Cânsing, a Welsh Government funded project which develops singing in schools across Wales. Current projects include Musical Director for a community family choir based on the Caia housing estate in Wrexham and MD for ‘Gair ar Gnawd’ a Welsh language oratorio written by Pwyll Ap Sion and Menna Elfyn to performed in April in Llanelli. Other workshop and Musical Director credits include Clwyd Theatr Cymru, the Eisteddfod Cenedlaethol and the International Eisteddfod in Llangollen.
Jenny loves teaching singing at Canolfan Gerdd William Mathias and is the founder and conductor of the acclaimed Chamber Choir here at the Canolfan Gerdd. Jenny is lead vocal tutor for Gwasaenth Ysgolion William Mathias and conducts the Gwynedd and Anglesey County senior youth choir.
